Palo Alto's G-Man

Jerry Cambell

Jerry was one of the FBI agents who ambushed John Dillinger at a Chicago movie theater in 1934. Dillinger was head of a gang that pulled off daring bank robberies during the Depression.

Campbell was an expert marksman who took part in hunting down Bonnie and Clyde, as well as shooting it out with other gangsters, such as Ma Barker and Pretty Boy Floyd.

He specialized in bank robberies, kidnappings, extortion, and other crimes that were dangerous and often required the use of deadly force.

He moved to Palo Alto in 1946 and opened an FBI field office, where he spent most of his career.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “I’d seen the author’s work in OZY but was blown away by this book. It’s SUCH a great read, written from the heart! Full of interest for those historians of the hippie generation, North Beach, corrupt cops, mobbed up pols, and San Francisco in general. Very well written and paced up to the last pages. Truth is indeed stranger than fiction. Buy this book now!" - Amazon review
